Anna J. Hurd

Anna J. Hurd, age 71, of Mentone, IN, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 10:58 PM in Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw. She was born November 24, 1947 in Martin, KY to Melvin and Thelma (Stephens) Miller.

Formerly of Burket and Fort Wayne she was a Mentone resident for 10 years. She was united in marriage to Lorenza “Ramsey” Hurd on December 31, 1965 in Packerton, IN. She was a former seamstress for Kinder Manufacturing. anna was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, Warsaw.

She is survived by three sons, Randy Lee ( spouse Tammy) Hurd, Burket; Jeffrey Lynn ( spouse Kimberly) Hurd, Mentone and David Allen ( spouse Belynda) Hurd, South Whitley; four sisters Arlene ( spouse Larry) Sroufe of Larwill, Gloria (spouse Ron) Daffron of Columbia City, Gale (spouse Larry) Burkhart of Warsaw and Saundra (spouse Jack) Ott of Helena, MT; three brothers Michael (spouse Paula) Miller of Huntington, Arthur (companion Linda Coulter) Miller of Columbia City and Rick (spouse Kristie) Miller of South Whitley. Furthermore, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded by her husband Ramsey on March 24, 2012 and a brother Melvin Miller, Jr.

Visitation hours are schedule from 2:00 to4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, 3651 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. Her Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the church with Pastor David Cripe officiating. Interment will be in Palestine Cemetery. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with the Funeral Arrangements.
