John A. Larson

John A. Larson, 61 of Leesburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 10:44 am in Indiana University Health Goshen Hospital, Goshen, Indiana. On November 6, 1949, John was born to Peder and Evelyn (Prokop) Larson in Elgin, Illinois. He was raised in Cicero, Illinois, then lived in the Chicagoland area before moving to Leesburg, Indiana. He married Patsy Drazan on January 25, 1997 in Leesburg, Indiana. John was a trumpet player for 44 years with the Ides of March, Chicago, Illinois. Music was his love. After retiring from the Ides of March, he played locally for the Lake Area Community Band. John is survived by his wife of 14 years, Patsy Larson, Leesburg; mother, Evelyn Larson, Cicero, Illinois; 2 step children, Elizabeth (and spouse John) Cassano, Lewisville, Colorado and Derek Sinclair, Berwyn, Illinois; granddaughter, of which he was a proud grandfather, Sabrino Cassano, Lewisville, Colorado;sister-in-law, Gail Larson, Hickory Hills, Illinois; 2 nephews, Robert and Scott Larson, Illinois and a niece, Sheri Larson, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Richard Larson. Services and burial will be at a later date.
