L. Dean Blanton

L. Dean Blanton, age 76, of Warsaw, IN passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 9:09 PM in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was born on September 8, 1942 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Estil and Dorthy (Caudill) Blanton.

He was a lifelong resident of Warsaw. On May 25, 1962 he was united in marriage to Lois Hively in Atwood, IN. He worked at Dalton Foundry as a Core Maker and retired after 45 years of service. Dean was a man of faith and loved God. In addition, he enjoyed yardwork, sports in general; especially Kentucky Basketball, he loved his family dearly and the love he had for his Grandsons in particular held a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his Wife; Lois Blanton of Warsaw, Son; Larry (spouse Sharon) Blanton of Warsaw, Sister; Lois (spouse Bill) Slone of Claypool, Brother; Gene (spouse Sue) Blanton of Packerton, Grandsons; Michael (spouse Gavin) Blanton of Warsaw, Darren Burchett (fiancé Melissa Rice) of Warsaw, Eric; (spouse Kerissa) Blanton of Marietta, GA, Step-Great Grandchildren; Abigail and Zidion Rose. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Sisters, 1 Brother and 1 Daughter; Wendy Burchett.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the Service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Brother Tim Slone will officiate the Funeral Service.  Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

The Blanton Family asks that in lieu of flowers, charitable contributions to the donor’s favorite charity be considered.
