Ronald Himes

Ronald Himes, age 87, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 1:28 PM in his residence. He was born March 14, 1931 in Plymouth to Herman and Edna (Higgs) Himes.

 Ron was a 1949 graduate of Warsaw High School. He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army as a Corporal (E-4) in the AUS Artillery from 1952 through 1960 during the Korean War.  He was united in marriage to Marjorie E. Huffer, April of 1954 in Warsaw, who preceded him January 19, 2015. He was employed by Custom Tile of Warsaw as a Carpet and Flooring Installer and then by Kosciusko County Highway Department with 28 years of service prior to retiring and subsequently by H. D. Creamer as Carpet and flooring Installer. He was a member of the N.R.A. and Warsaw American Legion Post #49. Ron was an avid attender of area auctions and a “member” of the McDonald’s Morning Coffee Club.

 Ron is survived by his son, Garry (and spouse Connie) Himes, Warsaw; five grandchildren, Beth (and spouse James) Weddell, Noblesville, Matt (and spouse Rachelle) Himes, Warsaw, Brad and Brock Himes of Warsaw and Brianna Himes of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Alexis, Morgan, Nolan, Alex, Katelyn, Angel and Sophia. He was preceded by his wife, son Robert, brother Jack and a sister Vivian Joan.

 A Funeral Service is scheduled Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Mike Beezley officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with Military Honors rendered by American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126 and active duty members of the United States Army Honor Guard.
