Barbara Wyand, age 88, of Winona Lake, IN passed away Sunday August 19, 2012 at 10:50 Am in her daughter’s residence in Leesburg, IN. She was born September 26, 1923 in Greenville, MI to Lynes F. and Meroe M (Coats) Baldwin.

On August 19, 1945 she was united in marriage to Donald Wyand in Greenville, MI. Her husband Donald was a Naval Aviator for 33 years and career took them many place to live both in the United States and abroad. She was formerly employed by the Gibson Refrigerator Company of Greenville, MI, the Spaulding Company of Grand Rapids, MI. and a chain of Deli’s in Coronado, CA as an Accountant. She volunteered at numerous Naval Hospitals, the Navy Relief Organization, American Red Cross and served as a Pink Lady at Coronado Naval Hospital. She was an avid bridge player, swimmer and diver. She was a guest of the Queen of England at Buckingham Palace in 1972.

Survivors include her husband Donald Wyand of Winona Lake, IN; daughters Susan (spouse Bill) Allen of Leesburg, IN; Nancy (spouse Bruce) Stambler of Simi Valley, CA; son Donald (spouse Silda) Wyand of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren J.B. (spouse Lisa) Van Meter of Carmel, IN, Dawna (spouse Don) McCune of Warsaw, IN, Kelly Stambler of San Francisco, CA, Robby Stambler of Santa Monica, CA, Nick Allen of New Orleans, LA, Joshua and Ethan Wyand of Honolulu, HI and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday August 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw, IN. Reverend Robert Livingston will officiate. Interment will be in Point Loma National Cemetery Point Loma, CA.
