Cecil Latta, age 81 of Warsaw passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 9:15 AM in his residence. He was born on January 23, 1930 in Warsaw, to Cecil Graham Latta and Margaret (Egan) Latta. He was a Lifetime resident of Warsaw. He was a graduated of Warsaw High School in 1949. Cecil was a US Air Force Veteran serving from 1951 to 1954 as an Airman First Class .On June 13, 1959 he married Patricia Tyner, and she passed away in 1995. On October 25, 1997 he married Joyce (Snyder) Cain, she survives. Cecil worked for Zimmer Inc., in the Fiber Metal Division retiring in 1992.
He was a former Kosciusko County Sheriff Deputy (1956-1959) serving under Sheriff Carl Tuffy Latta. He was also a Shipping Supervisor for Korth Furniture of Warsaw.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Legion Post # 49, Knights of Columbus (4th degree) and The Elks Lodge #802 all of Warsaw.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Latta of Warsaw. 2 nieces, Margaret (and spouse Eric) Whitley of Warsaw and Janet (and spouse Scott) Kammerer of Leesburg. 1 nephew, Steve Allen of Warsaw, 1 great nephew and 5 great nieces.
He was preceded in death by parents, 1 sister, Annie Allen and 2 infant brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.
Calling will be on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. There will be a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM and a Vigil by the Knights of Columbus.
Father Phil DeVolder will officiate.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 49 and the VFW Post 1126 and the Indiana Army National Guard.
