Chester Scott Craig, 83 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 10:30 am Friday, June 14, 2013 in his residence.
On April 20, 1930, he was born in Pierceton, Indiana to LeRoy and Beatrice (Horne) Craig. He married Dorothy June Hunter on October 23, 1960 whom preceded him in death on November 25, 2009.
A lifetime resident of Warsaw, he retired after 50 plus years in the trucking industry. He was a Korean War veteran and a lifetime member of American Legion Post #258, Pierceton where he held offices of Post Commander, Adjunct and member. He was also a member of the Veterans' of Foreign Wars and the Moose. Chester was fond of fishing and his grandchildren.
Surviving are five children; Kenneth E. Craig and family, Warsaw, Victoria R. Reiter and family, Warsaw, David S. Craig and family,Warsaw, Priscilla M. King and family, Wabash and Larry W. Craig, Washington; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two nephews, John L. Craig and family and Terry W. Craig and family, both from Warsaw.
Chester was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, June 21, 2013 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton with Pastor Bert Pauluhn officiating and military honors by American Legion Post #258, Pierceton. There are no visitation hours planned.
