Chester Shepherd

Chester Shepherd, age 82, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at 4:05 PM in Mason Health Care and Rehabilitation. He was born December 8, 1931 in Arthurmable, KY to Frank and Ella (Wireman) Shepherd.

He was retired from Kralis Brothers Foods of Mentone in 1996 in the Food Processing Department. He enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, fishing and all activities outdoors. He was an avid Indiana University basketball fan and NASCAR fan with his favorite driver being #24, Jeff Gordon.

He is survived by a daughter Cathy (spouse David) Cox of Warsaw, IN and a son Mike (spouse Susan) Shepherd of Silver Lake, IN. Also, daughters Cheryl Blair of Virgina Beach, VA, Patricia Hollister of Albany, NY, Teresa Shepherd of North Carolinia and son Frank Shepherd of Warsaw, IN. In addition, brothers Joe Shepherd of Silver Lake, IN, Jeff (spouse Vicki) Shepherd of North Webster, IN and sisters Mrs. Cecil (Ocie) Shumaker of Akron, IN, Cynthia Harmon of Wabash, IN, Thelma Jackson of North Manchester, IN and Mrs. Gary (Avenell) Smith of Akron, IN also survive.
He was preceded by his wife Mary Shepherd, five brothers and two sisters and one son.

Graveside services will be held Friday April 25, 2014 at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, IN at 2:00 PM with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with arrangements.
