Donald LeRoy Raiman

Donald LeRoy Raiman, 90 of Leesburg, Indiana passed away at 1:35 pm Monday, April 11, 2016 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

On January 12, 1926, he was born in Harvey, Illinois to Mathias and Mary (Metz) Raiman. He was united in marriage to Margaret Louise Bolhuis on May 21, 1949 in Roseland, Illinois, who survives.

Donald served our country in the U.S. Army as a military policeman during World War II. He worked as a t.v. repairman and technician before becoming a self-employed tile setter, retiring in 1988.

He moved from Illinois to Kosciusko County in 1991, where he was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw. He was an elder at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dolton, Illinois and a little league coach. He liked to golf, pleasure boating on the lake and was an avid reader, but most of all; he enjoyed working around the house. His family was his life and he provided a good life for them.

He is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Margaret Louise Raiman, Leesburg; two children, Robert Raiman, Leesburg and Donna (spouse Greg) Dommer, Hobart; his grandson, Timothy Slach, Hobart and his fiancé, Tracey Noe, Bourbonnais, Illinois. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clarence and Howard Raiman.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw with Pastor Mike Mueller officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1196, Warsaw at the church following the service.

Memorial contributions in Donald’s name may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1720 East Center Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
