Jason M. Dobbins, age 50, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 6:44 PM in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. Jason was born on February 5, 1969 in Warsaw, Indiana to Ted and Judy (Lewis) Dobbins . He was united in marriage to Kara Crousore on June 29, 2019 in Warsaw, Indiana.
Jason was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. He began his career with the Plymouth Police Department and worked for them from 2004 to 2012. In January of 2012, he began serving the city of Warsaw, joining Warsaw Police Department as a patrol officer.
In the spring of 2013, he joined the Warsaw Dive Team and obtained a variety of certifications through PADI and DRI to include Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Underwater Navigation, Night Diver, Boat-Based Operations, Medical Diver, Deep Diver, Dive Rescue I, Diver Rescue II, Ice Diver, and Surface Rescue. Additionally, Officer Dobbins went through a lengthy training course to become a certified polygraph examiner. He was also employed by North Webster Community Center as a Facilities Manager.
Among the rest of his extended family, Jason leaves behind wife, Kara of Warsaw, IN; children, Hayden Dobbins of New Smyrna, FL, Bayly Dobbins, Jaylyn Dobbins, and Payton Dobbins all of Warsaw, IN; Jake Crousore of Warsaw, IN; parents Ted and Judy Dobbins of Warsaw, IN. In addition, Jason is survived by brothers, Jeff (Aletha) Dobbins of Silver Lake, IN, Joel (Shelley) Dobbins of Warsaw, IN; in-laws, Denny (Sandy) Jagger of Pierceton, IN, Greg (Michelle) White of Warsaw.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Warsaw Community Church. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Warsaw Community Church. Chaplain Layne Sumner and Pastor Todd Gerst will be officiating the services. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
