John T. Tom Easter, age 82, of Winona Lake, IN passed away November 8, 2011 at 1:49 AM in Kosciusko Community Hospital Warsaw, IN. He was born February 13, 1929 in Peru, IN to Charles and Jane (Knott) Easter.
Tom was a Kosciusko County, IN resident since 1978 and was formerly of Fort Wayne, IN. ON May 4, 1952 in Rutherford, NJ he was united in marriage to Barbara Powell. He was the Owner of Eagle Enterprises and was a Heating and Cooling Sales Engineer and retired in 2008 after 50 years.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and avid fisherman Tom was a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict from 1949 to 1952 as a Second Lieutenant. He was a lifetime member of the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and air Conditioning Engineers, In addition, he was a member of the First Christian Church of Warsaw, IN where he formerly served as a Deacon; a Eagle Scout- Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Science in 1951 and also attended Purdue University.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Easter of Winona Lake, IN; sons Charles (spouse Tamra) Easter of Fort Wayne, IN and Michael Henry (spouse Melanie) Easter of Warsaw, IN; a daughter Jo Elizabeth (spouse Fred) Helfrich of Warsaw, IN; a brother Ben Easter of Columbia City, IN and grandchildren Adam Helfrich of Aurora, IL, Elizabeth (spouse Neil) Kjeldsen of Indianapolis, IN, Hanna and Emma Easter of Fort Wayne, IN and Patrick and Samuel Easter of Warsaw, IN.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 am at First Christian Church Warsaw, IN. Pastor Gary Boschain will officiate the services. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment services will be private. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw, IN is entrusted with the arrangements.
