Mitchell R. Castle, 84, of Columbia City, Indiana, died on 6/17/2010 at 8:38 am at in his residence with his son Ron, by his side.. He was born on April 17, 1927 in Middlecreek, Kentucky.
Mitchell was born to Carew and Nora (Ellen) Castle. He lived in Pierceton most of his life until living in Warsaw for 10 years.
He married Joan Keplinger on March 20, 1953 in Warsaw, she survives. He served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II.
Mitchell worked as a core maker for Dalton Foundries for 43 years, retiring in 1989. He was a former member of American Legion Post #258, Pierceton and also was a former member and Past President of the American Rose Society, Fort Wayne.
He had a passion for growing Roses and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan as well as listening to the music of the Carter Family. He loved bowling and was a member of several bowling teams as well as playing guitar.

2 Brothers; Carter Castle, Gunlock, Kentucky
Danny Castle, North Manchester, Indiana
4 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, a Son, Randy Castle and 2 Brothers, Manus Castle and Von Castle.
Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, Indiana on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Steve Mullen officiating.. Calling hours will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral chapel on Sunday, June 20, 2010. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton with military honors..
