
Richard G. Brownie Brownell, age 88, of Warsaw, IN passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 8:00 AM at Mason Health Care & Rehabilitation, Warsaw IN. He was born January 2, 1923, to Horace and Edna Brownell in Brooklyn, NY. He has lived in Kosciusko County since 1975. He married Lorraine Andrew
He was a WW II Navy veteran.
He graduated from Hofstra University, Long Island, NY. Early in life he was an Insurance Salesman. He also worked for Leesburg Elevator as a general manager. He was a member of Saint Annes Episcopal Church, Warsaw, American Kennel Club, and numerous organizations. He volunteered for the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County. In 1976 he was the President of the Town Council Mayor Of Leesburg. Brownie enjoyed his politics, Carpentry, dog breeding, Soft coated Wheat Terriers, German Shepards and Irish Wolf Hounds. He was a lifetime animal Enthusiast.
Richard was survived by his wife Lorraine Brownell, Warsaw
Sons, Richard Jr, (and spouse Cynthia) Brownell, Chappaqua, NY, Craig (and spouse Toni) Metcalf of Columbia City, IN. and Gary (and spouse Susan) Metcalf of Melbourne, FL. a daughter, Linda Jean Brownell of California, a sister Peg Smith of Winona Lake. Eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Mark E. Metcalf.
Funeral services will be held Private at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw
