Ted Kerlin

Ted Kerlin, 89, of Silver Lake, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.

Born on July 31, 1932, in Rochester, Indiana, Ted was the son of Russell and Pearl (Hill) Kerlin. He was united in marriage to Jackie Harden on February 3, 1952, in Silver Lake, Indiana who preceded him in passing May 17, 1992.  He married Avis Dunnuck on November 19, 2003, in Gatlinburg, TN who survives.

He was a lifetime resident of Silver Lake and owner of Kerlin Tractor Sales. He is a member of the Warsaw Masonic Lodge 73, Fort Wayne Valley Scottish Rite, Mizpah Shrine Temple, and a former member of Silver Lake Lions Club.  Ted received multiple awards during his lifetime including the Dimensions of Excellence Business Award from Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce, and a three-time recipient of the Ford Motor Company President’s Award. He attended Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood.

Ted is survived by his wife, Avis Kerlin of Silver Lake; children: Rick G. (Diane) Kerlin of Warsaw, Valerie (Jan) Warner of North Manchester; four grandchildren: Jesse Warner of Denver, CO, Elaine Warner of Atlanta, GA, Camille Kerlin of Chicago, IL, and Carson Kerlin of Warsaw. He was preceded in passing by brothers Arthur, Kenneth and a twin brother, Ed.

A visitation is planned from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday November 28, 2021 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service in celebration of his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday November 29, 2021 in the funeral chapel. Pastor Dave Cox will officiate the services. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Masks are optional, and social distancing is encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
